Introduction of technology has made great strides in each and every sector and students today have unprecedented exposure to technological tools and gadgets at their disposal. Using technology for education is now a trend and it is necessary for students and teachers to become tech friendly. We at Hygia college of pharmacy (HCOP) use technological tools for students like websites, apps, learning games, e-books and virtual tutoring to help them at their own pace. We provide digital materials like classroom teaching, classroom learning topics, and different teaching methods for students’ unique learning needs. This have also reduced the stress and work load of our teachers, so that they can give more time for all-round development of our students.
Use of technical tools have also given instant access to knowledge to students to get answers beyond their textbooks. Our students have already become comfortable using these tools to connect with other classmates, and their teachers. One of the best benefits of technology in the classroom is students’ workplace is ready. This have enabled our students in building soft skills like critical thinking, independent research and cross technology proficiency.
The introduction of e-books and video lectures have even eradicated excessive waste of paper and there are examples that have helped us in solving all the environmental issues through submission of electronic document, cutting the institution cost on paper and other materials. Recently a YouTube battle was organised in our institute in which the students have made really awesome videos on their course contents.
